Co-Founder and Resident Teacher

Marcy Crawford is a meditation teacher and mindfulness trainer based in Simi Valley, California. She is Senior Teacher and Director of Coach Development at Unified Mindfulness, Founder of Embodied Teaching, and Co-Founder of The Center for Contemplative Enrichment. Marcy has three children between the ages of 12 and 25, and two sweet little cats named Izzy and Pepper.

Marcy’s extensive experience teaching mindfulness and meditation includes leading retreats, private coaching, mentoring coaches, teaching advanced mindfulness training courses, project management of international mindfulness conferences, and development of customized programs for California fire academies and the San Joaquin County Office of Education. Marcy has been a featured speaker on podcasts and for organizations including the Mindful Society Global Institute, Antelope Recovery, Tattoos & Torah, MT Mindfulness, and more.

Marcy strives to nurture truth by supporting others while continuing to deepen her own practice. Her approach to coaching is classically individualized and strongly informed by Unified Mindfulness, Rinzai Zen, and Advaita Vedanta. Her teachers have included Shinzen Young, Gary Weber, Shunan Noritake Roshi, and Jeff Shore. Marcy’s primary teacher is Ursula Jarand.

Louis Wilde was trained as an economist and has worked as an academic and a consultant. His first contact with formal contemplative practice was Transcendental Meditation, which he maintained through most of his twenties. He has since practiced in a number of time-honored traditions and has attended dozens of retreats and sesshins. He is President of the Board of Directors of the CCE.

Steven Davenport

 

Steven Davenport is a quantitative policy researcher and entrepreneur. He is the Executive Director at the nonprofit Center for New Data and is training to be a Level-3 Unified Mindfulness meditation coach. He began a regular sitting practice in his early thirties and his appreciation for the practice continues to develop.

Austin Raines

 

Austin Raines lives in San Clemente, California, with his family. He is the in-house attorney for a technology company, and actually enjoys his job. When he’s not working he can be found playing rugby, surfing, hiking, reading, or just sitting in quiet appreciation. His most favorite pastime is sharing these wonders with his daughter.
