Online Classes
From time to time the CCE will sponsor live seminars and multi-session courses on various topics led by various teachers. For example, Embodied Teaching was originally offered as a live seminar and then as a six-session live course. Teachers who are affiliated with the CCE through the founders are invited to inquire about teaching on-site or on our online platform.
Group Sitting
The CCE currently hosts one group sitting event, Taste of Zen, for Rinzai Zen practitioners, those preparing for temple visits, and established practitioners interested in learning about Rinzai Zen. The group meet quarterly for a weekend half-day. The program is bookended by traditional breakfast and lunch, including meal chants and etiquette practice. Between meals, there are several silent sitting periods and a recorded teisho (Zen dharma talk). For further information, contact the CCE at contemplative.enrichment@gmail.com.
Residential Retreats
CCE residential retreats are designed to support deep inner work and nurture a community of like-minded practitioners in a setting that is quiet, spacious, and closely connected to nature. We believe the practice we undertake together is important, and that having trusted meditator friends is key to both individual growth and to ensure that our impact on the world around us is skillful and useful. Our retreats give form and structure to this belief, by centering self trust, and nurturing trust in each other and in the practice.
Whether you want to learn more about these retreat formats before putting them on your calendar or are considering registering, we would love to hear from you! We are happy to answer any questions you may have, and hope to tailor each retreat to specific attendees well in advance.
Each retreat is intentionally limited to 6-12 participants to ensure a personalized and intimate experience. Reserve your spot today with a $50 deposit, which will be counted toward your total donation. The donation requested for each retreat is $50 per night. Deposits can be made on the donations page of this website or directly through PayPal to the CCE. Please be sure to use “friends & family” to help us avoid additional costs. Since PayPal does not allow us to see any notes you make on the payment form, please let us know which retreat or retreats you would like to attend by emailing us at contemplative.enrichment@gmail.com.
